Rash on 4 week old baby's face, head and earlobes

It started on his forehead, but then faded and is now mainly on his earlobes, eyebrows and is starting to appear on his scalp.

Do you think it could be cradle cap? On the US version of babycentre website it describes something similar as "6 week rash" which is apparently common in newborns but haven't found anything silimar on any UK sites.

He seems ok, aside from wind/reflux for which I have given up dairy/onions/garlic temporarily to see if that makes any difference.

Would be grateful for any advice, my gut feeling is that it is nothing to worry about, but don't want to be a crap mum in case it is something that needs treatment...!

They get spots, it's the skin changing to the new environment, baby acne. Just keep it clean, pop to the GP if any look nasty (weepy/pussy)

it sounds like cradle cap which is called sebhorrheic eczema.

use olive oil on scalp and eyebrows to prevent scaling. leave on over night and then just gently brush scalp. dont be tempted to pick off the crustiness as it can be sore

Thanks - it started to go down the day after I posted this, but now come up all over back of his neck.

I think it's cradle cap, as he also has milia and baby acne etc on his cheeks and it is definitely different. But we only realised he has cradle cap after he had a bath and all the skin on his scalp showed up as flaky.
