Rash on 9month old - is it due to crying?

Some advice please. My 9 month old DD start nursery on Tuesday and we have noticed a slight rash on her front and back Wednesday morning. Last night we checked again and it seemed worse - all over ther front and back from bottom of neck to nappy line.

We have done the glass test - and the rash disappears - so not worried about mentingitis. The rash is very slightly raised and not much colour to it - it does not bother her. Called NHS direct last night and they said if not disappeared by morning see our GP. However, spoke to my mum (retired nurse) and she said that it could be a stress / anxitery (sorry about spelling) rash from crying at nursery.

Feel that I have had 2 lots of advice to the extremes - NHS being over careful and my mum possibly being too laid back.

DD is fine in herself, bit tired from her first 2 10hrs days at nursery - but otherwise fine. Her temp is normal. Her top teeth are coming through at moment - is it a teething side-effect?

At home with DD today so can keep an eye on her. But do I do GP when it likely to be nothing? Anyone elses DC had a crying rash?

Many thanks

It could be a heat rash, does she get too hot?

Or a post viral rash, rashes after colds etc are very common.

Or an allergic reaction to new washing powder for example.

Or you my never find the cause. My ds almost constantly has a rash somewhere on his body, I',m never sure of the exact cause.

I probably wouldn't worry unless she was in any discomfort or ill or if the rash persists or worsens.

My DDs seem to get a rash every time they come across a virus. They don't have to be particularly ill and it soon fades.

They do both get rashes if the get hot and sweaty but that tends to be worse in creases to it's easy to tell when it's that.

If she's showing no other symptoms I wouldn't worry but don't send her into nursery with it.

I can't ever remember my own of childminded children having anything more than a blotchy face from crying and that goes within minutes.
