Incessant snot in 3yo

SO I know that kids often have runny noses but DS2 (3) hads had a pernament drip for months.

He's emitting thick green mucus from only one nostril. No other symptoms.

Should I take him to the GP or will I be laughed out of his office?!

is his breath stinky? could he have stuck something up there?

BulletProofMum · 02/08/2010 12:40

No stinky breath - but had wondered whether there could be something stuck.

Same thought as Aitch. My 3yo had one smelly snotty nostril for a week or so.

There was a mister maker style pompom up there. Nice

Sounds like everyone has the same thought - maybeI'll take him in. Will the GP have a poke or send for X-Ray?

Hi Pixie - how are you getting on? (was on due Mar10 with you I think!)

I tipped her head back and had a good look.

I didn't take the pompom out with my tweezers, honest guv.

Aitch · 02/08/2010 12:53

Hay fever? DD2 recently dx'd with that - constantly streaming nose and gummy eyes to match.

moaningminniewhingesagain · 02/08/2010 13:01

After being up her nose for a week/10 days it was Not Very Nice, I can tell you.

I only thought to look because I removed about 7 pieces of scrunched up foil from her nose a few days earlier Think it was from a cherry bakewell!

If it is green go to your GP and have him checked out. If it does not clear up present again. I always understood that green is a sign of infection.

BulletProofMum · 03/08/2010 09:59

Tis indeed green - I'll make an appointment.
