My DD has had it for about 7 days now and they are scabbing over nicely (yuck)

Is she still contagious to others? We are going stir crazy here!

Take her out, i thought once they crusted over they are no longer contagious.

We allow children back to our preschool when they are not getting anymore spots and all existing ones are completely crusted over.

I took dd out to unpopulated places (not shops or cafes, just on walks in woods etc) even before she crusted - being stuck indoors was driving her mad.

Have you any friends who have already had it you coul dsee?

yeah, Im heading over to my mums now. Poor DD she's making up songs and running round in circles!!!!

They appear to be crusting over and no new ones have appeared for 2/3 days.

Yes , health protection agency say that they are not to be excluded (from settings )after 5 days . So get out there !

they are infectious just before the spots come out and first few days.
