Pop-up book or similar for 4-year-old

I'd like to get my DD a really special book for her 4th birthday, possibly something pop-up - she loves looking at all the Maisy and Meg & Mog pop-ups in the bookshop, but I feel these are probably a bit on the young side for her now, so wondered if anyone could suggest something a bit more 'grown-up' without being too fiddly?

We recently got a Titanic pop-up book that both boys (3 1/2 and 7) love. It's called "Titanic: The Ship of Dreams" and has a story of a little boy. IIRC the character was an actual passenger even though the story is fiction.

There's a really lovely animal alphabet one that we have - with textured bits on all the animals and flaps and levers and things. Can't remember what it's called but can have a look later if you like?

jabberwocky, that sounds really interesting, will have a look and see if I can find one to look at.

Lady Biscuit, was it Alpha Bugs or Feely Bugs perhaps? They were among the first that came up on amazon. Has anyone got any books by their author, David A Carter? He did Blue 2, Yellow Square, One Red Dot, etc which I remember looking at years ago (probably pre-kids) and loving, but not sure whether they would be more appropriate for an older age group.

Any more ideas?

The best pop up books are by Robert Sabuda. Check out Alice in Wonderland - ISBN 978-068983759, Fairies and Magical Creatures - ISBN 978-1406313338, and Peter Pan - ISBN 978-1847383747.

Ooh, yes Robert Sabuda, had forgotten about these - got A Winter's Tale last year, so beautiful.

These are definitely along the right lines - any more?

We have the Alice in Wonderland one but I've been a little nervous at letting my little one handle it. It's sooo nice. I would hate to see it get torn.

jabberwocky, know what you mean! Got a few of my childhood favourites waiting patiently on the highest shelf until I can let the DDs look at them without hyperventilating...

LadyBiscuit, any joy with the title of the animal alphabet one?

Thanks for all your suggestions, I bought the Robert Sabuda Wizard of Oz today - actually got my hands on one and was enchanted by it! I suspect DD2 still a bit too young not to wreck it eventually, but I know she'll absolutely love it. Am probably going to get the Alice one for DD1 too.
