I think we may have reached a stage in dd's reading where I'm not sure where to go.
She will be 4 in January and is at nursery just now, so not actively learning to read or anything. She has loved looking at books and following the pictures in books since she was very young. We are at the library at least once a week for storytime and to change books etc.
Recently she has started to point to letters in sentences that are also in her name, so think she is beginning to think about the actual printed word.
Goodness....I am rambling aren't I?
I just need advice on what books she should be looking at/I should be reading at bedtime.
We read traditional fairy tales, most Julia Donaldson books, Judith Kerr (Mog the Cat, the Tiger who came to tea), Winnie the witch books and other such authors/stories.
We read the The Enormous Crocodile (Roald Dahl) tonight and was noticeably more words but dd enjoyed it and I did too. Should I be reading more lengthy stories like this?
Advice anyone?
