Books for a 1 year old?

Can anyone suggest some books that are perfect for a one year old?

My 11 month old DS has started showing a real interest in his books - he loves turning the pages, anything touchy-feely, lift flaps etc.

His birthday is coming up so I'd like to get some new ones for him - can anyone recommend any firm favourites?

Hairy maclary by Lynley Dood is great, as well as a few other she's written - slinki malinki, schnitzel von krumm. Any Julia Donaldson, I've just got tales from acorn wood that has flaps too. Dr seuss lift the flap books are good. And Brown Bear of course.

Why don't you get him a book thats about him? There are lots of websites that make books with your childs name in it so that they are actually part of the story. I have brough them for childresn birthday before (including my own) and they have been very well received.
