I went in to help at nursery when ds2 was new there and it was one of the first stories the teacher read to the children.

I was as as you all! But she read the story and they were called Barbara, David and Christopher!!

(If I was called Barbara I think I would be called Biff! Tis cool!)

Ineedacleaner - look in 'Egg Fried Rice'.

DS was reading another book with her in it yesterday but she had different earrings.

It's true what gossipmonger says about the names. I think it's in the teachers handbook!??

PortAndLemon · 08/07/2009 19:38

Sometimes in American families where they name the eldest son after the father he gets nicknamed "Chip" (as in "chip off the old block") rather than "Junior". So perhaps the father is David Senior and Chip is David Junior?

At least the black kids have got names now. It used to be all a bit Hollywood-in-the-50s - the blacks always in supporting roles, smiling on benignly as the whites got to do all the fun stuff. I used to make names up for them (Alfie and Emily...don't ask me why?!).

Biff, Kipper and Chip - always makes me think of Home & Away...
