Just wondering whether or not my 2.7 ds would like it. Has anyone read it? (By Pippa Goodman). Anything to get away from Thomas and Bob stories

Both my children LOVE it..I think we got it free from DS's playschool. It's the one book that they go back to time and time again. I like it because they get completely engrossed in it. I would highly recommend it!!

thanks - always unsure when buying a book from the web. I will order it

It's great - my kids love this book. Although you don't really read it as such, you just talk about all the different things that you would choose. You'll know what I mean when it arrives!

Yep, another satisfied reader ds(5).

Although, be warned it can take forever to get through depending on how many family members take part

dd(7) still sometimes chooses it at bedtime, even though she is a free reader.

Our copy is really torn and dog eared - it's been read lots!

Another warning: you will probably go through at least two years of your child selecting exactly the same thing on each page every time.

Otherwise, it's a great book. I enjoyed choosing something different on each page anyway.

Another vote here. My DSs (4 and 5) absolutely love it. They often sit together going through it.

time4tea · 13/12/2008 18:11

yes, another vote in favour. my DS (nearly 5) has gone back to it recently, having had a real phase on it for ages... good also for getting mummy/daddy to think of stories (although HCYourArse is right - DS1 was very keen on knights and robot stories, still lovely them...)

It's a great book, but it's not a story if that's what you were after. More for looking at and talking about.
