Any recommendations? Not the "Thats not my..." would rather have something rhyming and with lovely pictures.

Any that taste nice?

Seriously - go to a charity sop and buy everything they've got. Quantity and variety at this age - you'll soon find out what he likes.

owl babies

All the sandra boyntons, especially 'the going to bed book', 'barnyard dance' and 'hippos go beserk' (which I now know off by heart!

I recite Goodnight Moon to myself when trying to focus on sleep. Lovely!

Great suggestions here. Rod Campbell our most ripped and loved.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the Very Hungry Caterpillar yet! Ok so it doesn't rhyme, but it's essential to any board book collection! Both my little ones have been obsessed by it

It's probably blasphemy but I don't really like the Very Hungry Caterpillar and neither does my daughter. Are we weird?

As a small baby DS's first favourite book was 'Baby Faces'. It was a round book with black & white photographs of babies. Hello baby, happy baby, sad baby, quiet baby, noisy baby, bye bye baby, if I remember rightly.
