Lots of people have asked for an amazon wishlist for DS's 3rd birthday.

What shall I put on it? I'd like non-fiction as well as story books. He likes cooking and Lego.

He loves

Room on the Broom, Park in the Dark
Night Monkey Day Monkey
Snail and the Whale
Aliens love Underpants
Giraffes can't Dance
Hungry catterpillar, Busy Spider

I hate Thomas

I know this has been done before but DS is running around and I can't concentrate on searching the archives. Sorry.

All help appreciated,

Thanks

Defo Each Peach Pear Plum
Mr Men
Any Linley Dodd books
Snail and the Whale
Charlie Cooks favourite book
Bens garden (not JD, but illustrated by Axel Shaeffer)

In fact any Julia Donaldson.

ditto - Percy the park keeper treasury
There was an old lady who swallowed a fly....old lady

My favourites!

If he likes 'aliens love underpants' there is now 'dinosaurs love underpants' too. we have a lot of dinosaur non fiction too, I would rather read them than Thomas or Bob the builder anyday.

We are getting loads out of our Beatrix Potter complete tales (though individual ones would be more versatile)

Also, a fairy tale collection, if you don't already happen to have one. Ours is half Brothers Grimm and half Hans Christian Andersen - DS loves The Little Mermaid and The Emperor and the Nightingale particularly, so would recommend HCA collection.

Where the Wild Things Are and In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak.

Second the recommendations for any Ahlberg. Burglar Bill is one of our favourites at the moment. Oh and The Runaway Dinner (Alan Ahlberg) is totally fab.

Mick Inkpen's Blue Nose Island books - Blue Nose Island, Beachmoles and Bellvines, and Bokobikes (though I've been trying to order these for a while and apparently they're being reprinted. Worth the wait.

The Orchard Book of Roman Myths / Greek Myths are slightly too old for my DS (2.10) at the moment, but probably a good buy for the upcoming year. Aesop's Funky Fables is good and DS enjoys some of these already.

Slightly girlier (but my DS still loves them) Katie Morag - gorgeous illustrations - and Cinderella, an Art Deco Love Story

any of the Mog series by Judith Kerr.

Eat your Peas by Kes Gray/Nick Sharratt

Ten Rubber Ducks by Eric Carle

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs

Agree with Bear Hunt - my DS loves it and can't wait to shout 'It's a bear'. DS is 3 on Fri and loves the Mr Men books, Just so stories (Rudyard Kipling), any Julia Donaldson. But I think his book collection needs updating for his age! Some great suggestions here.

The Gruffalo's Child is just as good as The Gruffalo I think. Another book by Julia Donaldson with a different illustrator which I enjoyed reading to DS is Tyrannosaurus Drip.

Someone's suggested Click Clack Moo by Doreen Cronin et al, the second book (Quack Quack Giggle) is also lovely.

Another book is Library Lion, can't remember author.
