DD (12 - just finished year 7) is a huge reader but we’re reaching a point where I’m not sure where to direct her!
recent loves include the Hunger Games series (loves these), Ruby Redfort series, all the Holly Jackson books. She quite enjoyed the Geek Girl series too. If in doubt she will often return to the Harry Potter series but she’s done it about 7 times now!

within the last couple of years she has also enjoyed the Clockwork Sparrow books by Katherine Woodfine, and the murder most unladylike series (but recently gave the latter away so obviously not keen to return to them)

things she does not like include anything with animals at the centre, fantasy, Percy Jackson or anything to do with Greek or Roman history 😅

Have toyed with offering her the classics like Jane Eyre but don’t want to go in too early then put her off.

grateful for any recommendations ! She reads super fast too so always looking.

My daughter went through a dystopian/mild-romance phase and read the Matched trilogy by Allie Condie (in the future all our partners are chosen for us to allow 100% relationship success), the Divergent series, also the Scythe series by Neal Shusterman (although that one involves people being killed so obviously it depends how you feel about her having access to that). She also liked The Selection by Keira Cass (a girl competes to become the next wife of the prince, and doesn't want to be there). Also, One of Us is Lying (a murder mystery in detention).

The Skandar series.
Ravenmasters secret.
Holes.
Animal farm. Animals are totally at the centre
but not in a typical way!
Outwalkers is a dystopian novel.
The Unadoptables - he tried this at 9 but didn’t find it very interesting, reread at 11 and enjoyed.

Heap house by Edward Carey.

Dodger by Terry Pratchet.
