Books to read to 6yo

Hi, I'm looking for book recs to read to my 6yo daughter. She's in yr 1 and in the last stage of her phonics at school and also starting to free read. However she doesn't really like to free read chapter books yet as struggles a bit and still loves to be read to. We mostly have picture books at home though or early reader type books so I'm looking for suggestions on what I can read to her that is more interesting.

Charlotte's web, the BFG, the borrowers, 5 children and it, the wind in the willows, Winnie the pooh.
Could try some poetry - Now we are 6, I loved A child's garden of verses

I've done roald Dahl, some of the classics like Peter Pan and the secret garden, more recently the treehouse series which my six year old loved, and currently reading the wild robot trilogy which he is also really enjoying as am I.

Dd and I have just finished some of the Faraway Tree books and have just started Marge in Charge, which she enjoys. Isadora Moon was a bit hit over Christmas.

All of the above and Pippi Longstockings! It was my absolute favourite to read aloud.

We read a lot of the Little Gems books together (libraries often have them) as well as longer books, as a kind of bridge to her doing more independent reading - they are easy and simple illustrated chapter books. As well as the classics it is worth looking at what the blue peter book club have read for more recently published books - we have always enjoyed anything they have recommended.

The Isadora Moon and Mirabelle books by Harriet Muncaster are easy reads and very entertaining. I'm reading the Faraway Tree series to my 5 year old at the moment and she loves them. She also loves the Rainbow Fairies, Unicorn Academy and anything by Holly Webb.

We started with Mrs Pepperpot and then Allotment Lane School (which she loved). We moved on to The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the first two Carbonel books. Next up is Prince Caspian!

The princess in black series and the worst witch were hits for my DD at that age.

We're doing the Roald Dahl collection at the moment. Mine have loved Matilda, George's Marvellous Medicine and James and GP the best.

Andy Shepherd's dragon books are amazing too. The Boy Who Grew Dragons is the first in the series.

6yo was the point I started reading to ds books I'd enjoyed.
We started with Cue for Treason by Geoffrey Trease, which he absolutely loved.

So I'd suggest you think of books you enjoyed when you were about 9-11yo and choose ones with subjects you think she might enjoy.
For me, I chose that because I knew he was interested in history.

Some good suggestions above, I also highly recommend Isadora Moon, I enjoy the books as much as DD and they pink and black illustrations are lovely.
