. bump this for you as I can't think of any but bet someone can...
I think it will have to be a short book tho, rather than with chapters.

I'd go for poetry. probably the Alhbergs or Michael Rosen. Or maybe some Spike Milligan. I love this www.amazon.co.uk/Stomp-Chomp-Big-Roars-Dinosaurs/dp/0140569359/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=120457 4179&sr=8-1 but it is probably a bit too young.

As a teacher of that age group...I would say to read one of your daughter's favourite books. Share with the class why she likes it..it'll make her feel special.

thanks for all suggestions, am now thinking of taking a small selection of books to combart the 'we've had that last week' factor, 'the enormous crocodile'
and maybe a jaquline wilson younger readers one.

Is 7/8 too old for Hilaire Belloc?

Great poems.
