Fantasy books for a sensitive kid

My 6 yo likes fantasy stories, but is ludicrously sensitive to the notions of death and separation. For reference Howls moving Castle just got vetoed because Sophie and Lettie's mum had died, before the story even starts.
So, she's recently enjoyed Wombles, and Woof. Anything similar I can look up?

Isadora Moon books. The main character is a half fairy vampire, but there’s nothing scary about it.

I had a very sensitive dd who used to veto books for similar reasons. What I found very effective was to start reading the first chapter to her saying that I would stop if she said. I don't think I ever was asked to stop by her. In fact she was normally pulling the book off me by the end of the first chapter so she could read it herself.
She did that with the Famous Five. She then read all 21 books in about 3 days.

My suggestions would be:
Some of Enid Blyton: Wishing chair/faraway tree, but also some of her books with multiple individual stories often have fantasy type stories.
Beaver Towers series was one my ds loved. Some of them can be a bit scary, but I'd suggest reading them with him at least to start. The first one isn't too scary.
Peter Duck (Swallows and Amazons) is fantasy really. Most is pretty safe.
Rainbow Fairies. They're fantasy and totally unscary. The main issue is they're totally boring for anyone over the age of about 8yo (even if I did catch 19yo dd reading one the other day). Ds' wonderful review after dd had convinced him to try one was "When Jack Frost appeared, it was almost interesting."

@GlumyGloomer

And the wonderful thing about Rainbow Fairies is there's at least 150 all with the same plot so there's always lots in the library and charity shops.

We had very similar issues. Tears over James and the Giant Peach because his parents died, no to Michael Morpurgo because the the mother cat dies, Amelia Fang because someone gets turned into a bee….We’ve had some success with the Rainbow Grey Series (although there is some fighting with rogues and Skeleton Keys by Guy Bass. The Faraway Tree also good by Enid Blyton. I also find if I tell them what’s coming up they have higher tolerance for it. “This is is the bit where they get chased by an angry wizard, okay? They get away and the wizard falls over his own shoes. Silly old wizard.”

@boo1507 yes, I have to do that too; "it'll be OK, nobody looses their music forever." (Trolls World Tour, first movie was obviously skipped due to grandma death 😅)

@MargaretThursday dd is on rainbow fairies book 2 now, spot on 🤣

In a year or two, get the audiobook version of the Christopher Healy “Hero’s Guide” books. They are without a doubt the funniest, most ridiculous take on fairytales you’re ever likely to hear and the narrator is the best I have ever come across. My kids are late teens and we still refer to these books. They were only little when they listened to all three on a long car trip and kept asking for them again and again and again.
