DS1 (nearly 6yo) has been learning about The Great Fire of London, does anyone know any good history books aimed at this age range?

He is driving me mad talking about it, it doesn't interest me at all, so thought I'd get some back up!

Is there a series of good children's history books?

ooh dd did this

at the end of the week they had to perform the great fire by standing in the hall waving orange streamers

Cappuccino · 29/01/2008 11:47

make a model burning building out of junk

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 11:49

Was it made out of Greggs sausage roll papers Capp?

Thanks everyone, will get on the case, anything to shut him up about it! If I have to listen to anymore about sodding Baker street, I think I might go and burn it all down again.

dd1 did this last year and loved it too. I've just bought her this about London - it's incredibly detailed with lovely flaps to see what people's lives have been like over the centuries in the city

Cappuccino · 29/01/2008 11:49

NatalieJane not sure if it has got the Fire in it, but tis fab book anyway. dd1 made a lovely white middle ages type house with "real" flames

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 12:04

Oh bugger it, it must be on the firs of london, think I will go for that first link then, but not the £200+ one! Looks like it part of a series to build up, which is sort of what I what I was looking for anyway.

Oh good god no, I will be quite happy to never ever have to go to London again! Everytime I have been I have hated every second of it. How people live there.....?
