Ds2 is very interested in sewers and "where all the poo goes". Can anybody recommend a nice informative book for a 6yo?

the usborne under the ground book is good, but only brief on that topic of perennial interest, where all the poo goes

I would say if any MNer has an urge to write a book on this subject for children age 4 - 7 they would be onto a surefire winner

if you are feeling very committed, sewage works do run open days and educational trips for children occasionally

dp says he vividly remembers "the sweetcorn skip" from such a trip when aged about 8

this was all the bits that didn't break down in the treatment process, that had been filtered out of the water and it was about 99% sweetcorn. A skip full. Honest.

he likes to remind me of this often (I am rather fond of sweetcorn). He says it is unecological of me.

I'm not sure I could really enjoy a sewage works trip. We went to a beach once which had lumps all over it. On inspection, I realised they were poos. AND, the beach was crowded and people were letting their children play there
