What are the most popular books for a 6 years old girl in the UK?

I am planning to buy some books for my 6 years old daughter. Can anyone recommend me some books for her? Many thanks!

dd has enjoyed Sophie stories(Dick King Smith), Rainbow Fairies and is currently on Enid Blyton Naughtiest Girl and Secret Seven books

My dd1 is currently reading Gwyneth Rees books and she loves them.

Yes, DD loved the Rainbow Fairies ones (yeuch - only buy them if she can read them herself - they're dreadfully repetitive to read to them, I found - but if it keeps them reading, not to be sniffed at )

Secret Unicorn series if into ponies, The Faraway Tree

Secret unicorn and Stardust spirit books by Linda Chapman are dd's favourites for me to read to her. The God-awful Rainbow Fairies ones she can read by herself (because i refuse to)

Crikey - those rainbow fairies must be horrific then quickdrawncgraw. When ds1 was about this age he insisted on the Secret Unicorn books, and I refused to read them because I couldn't stand them!

believe me roisin -Secret unicorn books are like shakspeare compared rainbow fairies We have about 25 and they are all the same story. And I mean EXACTLY the same story.

I feel guilty that I bought my niece some this Christmas. But she does read them herself, it's not imposing on any adults at least!

Roisin - they are great for readers who need to gain confidence with chapter books because the vocabulary is so limited and the plots are so repetitive that they are not challenging at all. But for reading out loud - lord help us! I felt suicidal by the time DD2 was able to manage them on her own account.
Mind you I am reading her Goodnight Mr Tom atm and am dreading tonight as we have got to the chapter with the dead baby . I am not sure if it is a bit much for a 7 yr old.
