I recently read her first autobiographical book 'when Hitler stole pink rabbit', really to proof-read it to see whether is would be interesting/not too upsettilng for my 5 and 6 your olds to read. (By the way, for anyone who has not read it, it is great in my opinion, and perfectly suitable for younger or older).

Anyway, I am a bit confused about the sequels, so is anyone able to enlighten me? Amazon seems to contradict itself, as in there are two choices of trilogies that contain conflicting titles.

The ones I know are:
When Hitler stole Pink Rabbit (that is definately first)
Other Way Round
Bombs on Aunt Dainty
A Small Person Faraway.

So, does anyone know what order they are to be read in? Or if there are more that I have missed?

I want to buy them with Christmas vouchers.

Thanks for all your wisdom.

There is a 3-in-1 of the German books - we have it somewhere, hang on, I will search and/or google...

juliewoolie · 29/12/2007 22:19

When Hitler stole pink rabbit is one of my favourite books, I read it first at around 12 and then found the others in my 20's.

I cant remember in what order they are to be read but there was a book which as I thought had all 3 together but you have a title I had not heard of I thought it was a triogy.

Here you go, rp

HairyIrene · 29/12/2007 22:23

i just recently clicked that she wrote when hitler stole pink rabbit and mog etc..!

i loved that book and have now just found out there are others..

WendyWeber · 29/12/2007 22:23

It sounds as if Other Way Round is an alternative title for Bombs on Aunt Dainty (possibly a US version, they are always retitling things)

redpyjamas · 29/12/2007 22:24

Thanks WW, but where does Other Way Round come into it then? That is the only other one I have. I started to read it, and she is in London but a lot of time seemed to have elapsed since the end of WHSPR.

When I read these at around 14 or so, the middle one was called Other Way Round, so I think it may have been renamed.

FiveRustyRings · 29/12/2007 22:25

The other way round is about when she is older & an art student & now has to start caring for her mother after years of her mother caring for her - it's for older children than the other three I think.

IdrisYouaMerryChristmas · 29/12/2007 22:25

At the end of WHSPR, they have arrived in England (and thought everywhere was called Bovril) and then a few years have passed before OWR starts, I think.

redpyjamas · 29/12/2007 22:26

Ah, that might explain it. The US renaming books. Gets on my nerves! Thanks

This is the other triple book

Same apart from title of middle section?

redpyjamas · 29/12/2007 22:27

yeah WW, I saw those two options, and it confused me.

i had never heard of bombs on aunt daisy or other way round before this thread.

i had absolutely no idea there was a middle book

FiveRustyRings · 29/12/2007 22:29

I remember years ago there was a party political broadcast for the BNP with a 'family' scene of parents reading to their children - the book was Mog the Forgetful cat, which I thought was pretty ironic.

That explains why I had never heard of bombs on Aunt daisy - the only ones I have read are Pink Rabbit & the other way round

hunkermunker · 29/12/2007 22:31

I had no idea there were other books!

I love WHSPR! I know exactly where my copy is and I reread it not that long ago.

Will have to read the others - thank you!

fishie · 29/12/2007 22:34

i have just been to look at online library catalogue - there are no copies perhaps i can get them to buy one.
