She is an avid reader and just looking for some more suggestions. Thanks!

They're not similar but I was around her age when I read Phillip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials'

And obviously enjoyed them Grin

If she wants something a bit lighter though you can't go wrong with anything Enid Blyton.

Quite close to Jacqueline Wilson was a book called Toffee, Sarah Crossan. DD enjoyed it but it's pretty heavy.

And I hadn't read the 'Johnny and the...' series by Terry Pratchett, despite being a lifelong Discworld fan. I did recently and liked these, and the Wee Free Men/Tiffany Aching ones - though some of the other ones for slightly younger readers don't hit the spot (I find Maurice and his Educated Rodents creepy as hell!)

Diana Wynne Jones is brilliant, perhaps start with Charmed Life or Howl's Moving Castle.

Am a little puzzled by the commonality between the two in the title but depending on age and interests, I'd suggest Artemis Fowl, Percy Jackson, Unladylike Murders and

Thief of Always by Clive Barker - Short read, very good

FrostySnow · 28/09/2021 14:38

Wizards of Once series, by Cressida Cowell

Hyperion100 · 28/09/2021 14:39

Oooh...also Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. He wrote this for his young son who was annoyed he wasnt allowed to read any of his dad's grownup stuff.

Also a nice introduction to the King/Dark Tower universe.

Rick Riordan - Percy Jackson

Christopher Paolini - Inheritance Cycle

Mark Robson - Dark Weaver Legacy

Earthsea series by Ursula Le Guin

All of Sarah Crossnan’s are like better-written J Wilsons, however many have content which you may find inappropriate for a 12 year old.

Cathy Cassidy and Jean Ure are quite similar to Jacqueline Wilson.
Judy Blume of course is also similar but American.
Does she like the historical Jacqueline Wilson's (Hetty Feather etc)? If so she might like Anne of Green Gables or Little House on the Prairie.
If she has read Katy by Jacqueline Wilson then maybe the original What Katy Did or some E Nesbit books as JW has written a sequel to 5 Children and It plus her latest is a variation on The Railway Children.
