The Worst Witch or Amelia Fang?

Dd is turning 8 soon and I like to get her books for each birthday/Christmas. She doesn't like reading herself but likes Dh and I to read to her.
She has a lot of books, Horrid Henry, Roald Dahl, The Naughtiest Unicorn, My Naughty Little Sister and some Enid Blyton, although a lot of these we haven't read yet as she just wanted to read the Mr Men/Little Miss books over and over

Would she enjoy The Worst Witch or Amelia Fang more? I have read The Worst Witch before but don't know anything about Amelia Fang. She can sometimes get frightened easily and likes pictures in her books. Any other book suggestions are welcome

My 8 year old loved both but would definitely have gone for Amelia fang over worst witch. She can be a bit sensitive but didn't find either in the least frightening

She would also suggest the my sister the vampire books and once magic series

Warning an Amelia fang would last her a day max and she would be chomping at the bit for more...

My daughter loved Amelia Fang, it's a great series.

DC3 loved The Worst Witch at the same age. They read the entire series as their school reading books. The language is very rich and varied compared to books written for the same age more recently.

My dd loves Isadora Moon which is a half fairy half vampire girl story.

She also really likes the Never Girl series which is based on Disney

Witch wars and Isadora moon are loved here.

I think worst witch books are for slightly younger readers. DS liked these at age 6.
