DD is 8, year 3 and is a huuuge reader. Particularly loves mystery/adventure. Stuff she has really enjoyed over the last year or so:
Everything by Enid Blyton
Helen Moss adventure Series
The Kat Wolfe and the Laura Marlin series by Lauren St John
Friday Barnes Series
All the Harry Potters
Trapdoor mysteries Abie Longstaff
Violet and the... mysteries by Harriet Whitehorn

What could I get her out the library next?!

My son and daughter enjoyed reading A series of unfortunate events book series (13 books) by Lemony Snicket after reading HP series at a similar age.

Rowan of Rin series by Emily Rodda.

I was obsessed as a child.

Iliketeaagain · 18/04/2021 13:26

The murder most unladylike series?

My dd still loves them now at 11 - seems to be a mash up of Malory towers and agatha Christie mysteries.

And it got her into ready other older mysteries (she asked for murder in the orient express because one of the murder most unladylike stories had a similar theme).

Avoca76 · 18/04/2021 13:28

How about some of the classics e.g. The Railway Children and The Secret Garden?

LoopyGremlin · 18/04/2021 13:30

My 8yo daughter loves the Pamela Butchart books.

EnglishRose1320 · 18/04/2021 13:31

Septimus Heap series
Percy Jackson series
Lots of the books by Ali Sparkes

I found some Sherlock Holmes rewritten for children.

Phineyj · 18/04/2021 13:50

The Ivy and Bean series are terrific, but I think you'd have to buy them (American).

BlueLobelia · 18/04/2021 13:53

Oh how envious I am of you with a lovely reading DD!

I would got for some of the classics such as The Secret Garden; Little Princess; Tom's Midnight Garden.

And maybe some of the classic pony books- Ruby Ferguson; Patricia Leitch and the Pullein Thompson sisters. * alert alert.... you may need to buy a pony as well. :) ... *

Thanks so much everyone, loads of great ideas here for her to try.
@BlueLobelia I know it's so lucky she adores reading and any spare moment she has her nose in a book. Now just to get DS to feel the same way!

Symphony of shattering glass, by Gideon Kerk
Sounds right up her street. Lots of adventure, magic and a bit of mystery too.
