Looking for recommendations for books to read with an 18 month old. She enjoys the that's not my... Series but I'm looking for something with slightly more of a plot.

My 15 month old loves lift the flap books- Dear Zoo, Oh Dear, Noisy Farm, Where's Spot. They're a great next step from feely books to more of a storyline.

Her absolute favourite at the moment though is 'A Squash and a Squeeze'. Wants it read multiple times a day. But she also reaches a lot for 'I want my hat back'

Mine loved the ones that made noises at that age. We have some Julia Donaldson with sounds and some of the Apple Tree Farm ones too.

Ah yes the oi frog ones were a hit with mine at that age . Going on a bear hunt is great too for any age.

Enjoy. Bedtime cuddles with stories are the best Smile And I sympathise with That's Not My... fatigue. My DD is currently OBSESSED with That's Not My Bus, may have accidentally 'lost' it today...

When my DD was a like older she became obsessed with You Choose and that book had to go on an occasional little holiday.

The Book With No Pictures, by BJ Novak, is a good one - it makes you say funny things like blorp and 'boo boo butt'. Press Here by Herve Tullet is good too: it's 'interactive' in that the kids press the spots on the pages.

Those aren't really stories, though, more fun bedtime activities. Story-wise, we got a lot out of Maisy Mouse at that age. Goodnight Maisy was a stalwart.
