... what else would you recommend?

Dd 6 (yr 2) is a book worm. So far her favourites are

Naughtiest unicorn series
Mummy fairy and me series (very easy but loved the story)
Marge in charge series
Daisy and trouble with..... (these in particular I love!)

She has struggled to get into roald Dahl (possibly cos she’s watched half the films already) and the faraway tree just isn’t grabbing her.

Her reading level is way above her age - probably 3 years ahead, but want to keep it age appropriate. Also I’m not wanting to do Harry Potter just yet.

We are currently running out of books - she’s read two this weekend alone!

Has she read the Ramona series? It's brilliant. We started by reading it to DD and I loved it myself, then she read through them on her own. Good, strong characters and thoughtful storylines.

My dd hasn’t read that series but it sounds like something she would like so I’ll look in to it

She also enjoys Isadora Moon, rainbow fairies and animal friends books

Ah ty for the suggestions! Just found a set of 10 x secret unicorn books for £10 so will definitely order those! Ramona books look good too so will hunt down some of them too.

She has some animal friends books but she doesn’t seem to really take to them. She has read some but only cos she had nothing else new to read!

I asked at school this morning if she could have some books from the school library - got told no cos of Covid, so looks like I need to keep her in books for a while!

@Soubriquet 6 yr olds seem to love the naughtiest unicorn, plus they are really easy for adults to be able to talk about without actually reading them! All you have to do is ask what Dave (the main unicorn) has been doing! The answer often involves something very silly or he has done a poo somewhere he shouldn’t have! The daisy books are similar - very easy to have a good conversation about a book I haven’t read.

Dd is nearly 8.. would these be too young then since she’s already reading David Walliams and Rhold Dhal

Zoe's rescue zoo
Atticus Claw
Unicorn Academy
Mr Penguin
Animal Ark (both modern and the old ones I found in a charity shop)

My elder DD really likes the Enid Bottom school stories like Malory Towers and St Clare's.

I have sympathy with needing the constant supply. My elder DD gets through about five a week. Younger DD only one or two. Some they share, but they prefer slightly different things on books.

I buy from the Works, Books2Door, the local charity book shop, Amazon second hand and sometimes eBay if after a specific book.

My Naughty Little Sister collection

Dick King-Smith collection

She sounds similar to my yr 2 daughter, she loves Unicorn Academy books and The Rescue Princesses.
