Hi, my daughter loves reading the Rainbow Magic Beginner Reader series, and I'm looking for something similar for my almost 5 year old girl. She's just beginning to read.

She likes unicorns, princesses and fairies. Any ideas gratefully appreciated!

Thanks.

Isadora moon series
Kitty and the moonlight rescue (there's a few different books here too)
The secret rescuers

The Princess in Black Series
The Princess of Pets series
Unicorn Academy

My 5 year old daughter is currently reading her way through these :)

Thanks both so much! She's only just beginning to read, so not quite ready for chapter books yet.

I think one or two sentences per page would be good... any thoughts?

If she's just starting out of you can get to deals they usually have the phonics books or readers for €1.50 each. Id stock up on those. The books I mentioned might be good for Xmas. You could start out reading them together.

DD sounds like she's at a similar level and likes this Usborne book peekinside.usborne.us/princess-stories/ . It's got children's words at the top of the page and adult words at the bottom if that would work for your DD. The children's words just about tell the story by themselves if she does want to read it all by herself. However, my independent DD surprisingly really likes that we read it together.

They do a similar dual reader book of some classic fairytales <a class="break-all" href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=<a class="break-all" href="https://www.[[//amazon.co.uk/Usborne-Book-Fairy-Tales-Combined/dp/074606411X&ved=2ahUKEwiMg5Dd-M3sAhUNaRUIHR3bBoEQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw0MNy7v23bPlerH_wqJU-xL?tag=mumsnetforu03-21"" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.[[//amazon.co.uk/Usborne-Book-Fairy-Tales-Combined/dp/074606411X&ved=2ahUKEwiMg5Dd-M3sAhUNaRUIHR3bBoEQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw0MNy7v23bPlerH_wqJU-xL?tag=mumsnetforu03-21" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Usborne-Book-Fairy-Tales-Combined/dp/074606411X&ved=2ahUKEwiMg5Dd-M3sAhUNaRUIHR3bBoEQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw0MNy7v23bPlerH_wqJU-xL]] . I'd say this one the child's words are slightly harder than the first one.

Once they get up to about green book band, the Usborne first reading and Oxford Traditional Tales have retellings of lots of traditional fairy tales / Aesop's tales etc (I also have an older DS). The lower level ones don't have any of the princess tales in though, I guess because they are actually quite complicated stories.
