Need something a bit meatier/scarier for 13yo DS2

DS2 has expressed an interest in reading a "horror" book.

He hasn't read a book since Primary school and it would be so great if he start reading again.

I'm not sure whether Stephen King is too old?

Any ideas?

He's quite hardy and recently watched the recent It films and Stranger Things without batting an eyelid.

I think “IT” is too grown up,too much sex and the torture of the puppy is too scary.

I think pet sematary is less scary and so is Carrie.

Yep, DS13 Year 8 started IT recent but didn't finish it, think ge got a bit overwhelmed. And it's a big book, he got fed up lugging it to school every day!
