Adventure books with plenty of illustrations

Hi, I'm looking for chapter books for a relatively reluctant 7 year old, who is into x storey treehouse series. I think he would love something like the lion the witch and the wardrobe if there are lots of pictures in the book like the above series. Does anyone know if there is such a thing? (I think cs Lewis only does chapter books with very little illustrations)

If not I'd still be very grateful for any other adventure type books for him. Many thanks!

You could try some graphics novels. I don't know if he'd be too young for the Alex Rider ones.
Also mine loved Tintin at that age.

There is an illustration LWW Book People
or Amazon

I don't think they're the same books, so it gives you two to choose from.

The "Oliver Moon" series of books? (They are a bit like Harry Potter but for younger readers). From memory there are illustrations and the chapters are short. Also Jeremy Strong "My brother's famous bottom" series?

Also the "Jack Stalwart - Secret Agent" series by Elizabeth Singer Hunt, DS2 loved these, they have illustrations and are aimed at 7+

My eldest loves heavily illustrated books, including the Treehouse series. Biggest hits have been Philip Reeve/Sarah McIntyre books, Christmasaurus, Rabbit and Bear, Ottoline, Flamingo Hotel, Pamela Butchart and Dav Pilkey. There’s a lot of good illustrated stuff out there.
The Phoenix comic is great too.

The Phoenix comic is great! My son loves the Mega Robo Bros graphic novels after reading the comic strip in the Phoenix.

I have a friend who has spent four years writing her first children’s book and painted all the illustrations in watercolour. Also all of her stories are inspired by parents who have a diagnosis of a terminal illness to preserve special family memories and her illustrations are really incredible. You can have a look on social media for Tailored Yarn and let me know what you think. Her book has illustrations on all fifty pages. It is only available on kickstarter but can be ordered in time for Christmas. It’s called Postpixie Missing in Action by Gillian Seale and teaches children about empathy, perseverance and confidence as well as being an exciting adventure. She might even give you a discount if you mention me. I think what she’s trying to achieve is really commendable but she simply loves being creative.

Hornbeam Hollow is a beautifully illustrated book. Age range I’d estimate to be 5-7, but older children (and adults) seem to enjoy it too.
