Who doesn't like to read?
Looking for anything that might get him to read a bit more. I tried him with Hunger Games recently but he wasn't interested. Never been interested In Harry Potter. He only usually wants to read comic style books but I need him to start reading proper novels. He has read Holes and Pig Heart boy which he actually enjoyed.
Can anyone think of anything he might like? He likes things like walking dead comics and tv series if that helps.

Colson Whitehead Zone One literary zombie novel, for adults but as he's fifteen should be okay, graphic novels by writers like Alan Moore.

If he likes the Walking Dead try After the Cure by Dierdre Gould. It's a bit more grown up rather than a teenager book but no graphic sex or anything like that. Or Feed by Mira Grant is more teenager-y but still a good series.

I have heard others say that ‘reluctant readers’ sometimes get on better with non-fiction. It’s often written in a much more straightforward style. Depending on his interests, you might try him with something like Bill Bryson’s travel writing, Ben Macintyre’s Agent Zigzag, or Geoffrey Wellum’s First Light - he died a few weeks ago, but this is his fascinating first hand account of flying Spitfires in the Battle of Britain while he was still in his teens.

Thanks for the suggestions and yes @urbane I was thinking he would like a non fiction book and was looking for something that may spark his interest.
He has found a book in the library about a secret agent that he seemed keen to read so we are giving that a go. I will note down these suggestions for future, as he should be reading more!

How about looking for some Neil Gaimin comics/graphic novels and then nudging him on to NG novels? Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London has a similar crossover between graphic novel and ordinary novel.

Thanks @PerspicaciaTick I'll look into them ones too

Has he read World War Z?

It's nothing like the film, that's for the better, the film was a travesty. The whole book is broken down into before, during and after the outbreak. Then within each section there are stories from different people and different aspects of the outbreak. It's phenomenal and nicely broken up (if he can put it down, it's very compelling).

Any of the Terry Pratchett books with death in. They're all good but death is my favourite character and I think a 15yo boy could get on board with him. The Watch and Moist von Lipwig books are also excellent. They're very clever books, amusing and set in a beautifully constructed discworld.
