DS is 4 and until now bedtime routine has included a whole short picture story (about the length of the Gruffalo.)
We'd like to start reading longer stories to him and having a chapter a night as part of the bedtime routine.
I look forward to your recommendations.

Thanks. Even more ideas that are in the boxes. Now I feel I should have thought about this earlier but then like Oops said, when you've been with them all day, you don't necessarily want to spin bedtime out. Now I'm working again, I'd like to make it a bit more special.

Oops - do you have a simplified version of 101 dalmations? We have started it and there are a few bits that seem a beyond DS's comprehension.

Littlenose the Hero and its sequels by John Grant are popular with my 4.5 yr old.

My ds loves;
Moomintroll series, Dirty Bertie, Horrid Henry and Flat Stanley. Anne Fine also writes lovely books - 'Caer of 'Henry was much enjoyed in our tent this holiday.
