Any recommendations please? My 2.5 year old is asking for a fire engine book and a train book. Would love any suggestions. Thanks!

The Little Red Train is a lovely series of stories. www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Red-Train-Gift-Collection/dp/0091798930?tag=mumsnetforum-21 This gift collection is the nearest I've seen to being able to purchase a whole set of them. There are loads in the series.
Usborne do a Wind Up Train book. Each of the three stories has a sturdy track embedded in the pages, which the accompanying wind-up train toy can then be placed upon to follow around and bring the story to life. Engaging at first but a bit gimmicky.
The Usborne Look Inside Trains book has lots of flaps to lift. Children of all ages will get something from it because older children will appreciate the facts. I like it because it includes both old and modern trains. Usborne also do a First Train Sticker Book which is fantastic if you're not after a story.

We loved Flashing Fire Engines by Tony Mitton at that age.

The little red train books are amazing- buy the large books not the small mini book set. There is so much to look at. Also by the same author/ illustrator are "in the town" and "in the country" - hands down my dc favourite books by far. In the town has lots of vehicles, in the country is just beautiful!

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I’ve ordered the fire engine book and the little red train collection and a Thomas train encyclopaedia. My little one will be super happy 😊

A Day with the Animal Fire Fighters went down well with DS2. I'm sure your local library will have some age-appropriate factual books too.

Hi, girls!

My daughter love train movies... I made her one of those silent books, from youtube and she is obsessed with it for two weeks straight :)
