Book recommendations for 2 year old

My daughter(2 and a half) has not been very interested in books and would just start to play or grab them when I read to her. We've recently started reading books in bed but there is still only certain books that grab her attention, for example she likes we're going on a bear hunt and others that have interesting stories that can be read expressively. A lot of the books she will just seem bored and lose interest. I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations of books with a good story that may keep her attention. Thank you x

Dear Zoo is another brilliant story with the added bonus of flaps to lift.
Several of Julia Donaldson's books are just begging to be read expressively. I'm thinking of Room on the Broom, The Gruffalo and A Squash and A Squeeze in particular.
Try engaging her with some touchy feel books like the That's Not My.... series.

You need books with rhyme, like Julia Donaldson, to keep the attention of little ones.

Also the 'that's not my...' series as they are sensory books.

A recommend a great book called 'press here' by herve tule too, is amazing and interactive.

'A bit lost' is good and quite short

How about picture books that encourage talking about the pictures like 'first time nursery'

I second the That's Not My... books and also anything by Rod Campbell.

Touchy feely books, lift the flap books and ones with rhyme.

The ahlbergs, peepo and each peach pear plum are good places to start. The hungry caterpillar. Five minutes peace. The trick is to find books that you don't mind reading thousands of times!

Great suggestions here, my DS loves all of them. His absolute favourite is Look at Me I'm a Robot. The book is shaped like a robots face and you can wear it like a mask while you read it (have to remember the words first mind ).

My DS loves the Max... series. There's Max the Brave, Max and Bird and Max at Night (which has become a bedtime favourite). Max is a kitten, therefore a winner in this house.

Neil Gaiman's Chu series is pretty good, though the first one (Chu's Day) is the most suitable one for a 2 year old.

pip and posy books are gorgeous. Simple text and stories. fab illustrations. My daughter really identified with the little stories and loved looking at the pictures.

My sister gifted my 2.5 old daughter My Little Sister Ate One Hare by Bill Grossman on the day that we brought my newborn son home from hospital few months ago. She actually loves it when my husband reads it to her. Its actually funny and educational. She also likes Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow. However, I guess it depends on the things your daughter actually likes or interested in. One cannot really tell that she would like what another child liked. So I guess its good if you can take to the book store and give her the chance to choose what she likes.

"That's not my..." and "Monkey Puzzle" were huge hits with my dc.

You need books with quick, and enticing page turns. 'That's not my...' are good, as they are also interactive, plus' Brown Bear, Brown Bear' from Eric Carle ticks lots of boxes.
