Awwww I love Owl Babies, such nostalgia

rhinosuze · 28/09/2017 21:12

I pack her favourite things and remind her how exciting it is to see nana, and how mummy and daddy won't be gone for long. I'm lucky that she knows she will have fun and do things we don't do together

Susangilley7 · 04/10/2017 10:29

Get their bags all ready and let them choose toys to take. Talk of all the adventures they are going to have that you will be able to share when you collect them on your return.

lhlawrie · 04/10/2017 13:59

I give them both a cuddle, a kiss, say to have a good day with the person who is looking after them and I will see them soon when I get back from work. Simple but works for us.

We have always struggled with little one being away from home and even sleepovers at nannys is a struggle. We always pack his favourite snugglies and his photo album book with pics of us in there. We also give him a little snack bag for his 'midnight feast'. Drop off is always tearful but we know he soon stops and has too much fun to think of us!

My son only ever goes to my inlaws and as Nanny never says no he runs out of here

wef1984 · 05/10/2017 11:56

I struggle with my youngest he really hates the separation so we try to avoid it as much as possible

mummyto2boys01 · 05/10/2017 12:35

I make sure my LOs have some home comforts that remind them of being at home :) This always helps them when i'm away from them

cathyov · 05/10/2017 20:44

Build it up gradually; from short little shopping trips to evenings out so they know you are going to return.

cathryn1 · 05/10/2017 20:58

make it an adventure and an exciting experience

vixxx666 · 05/10/2017 22:21

My youngest quite often takes one of my jumpers with him for comfort when he stays at nanny and grandads house.

pattiesplum · 05/10/2017 22:31

I think I may have had it easy. Mine are very happy to stay with Nonna or have her come to look after them at our house. I always tell the when I/we hope I will be back tell them I know they will have fun while I am away.
Must be lucky because I have not had any problems yet,

sarahw2 · 05/10/2017 22:49

Mine are both pretty good at being away from me, but I always make sure they have their own pillow to take with them, they settle so much better with them for some reason!

JayJay1874 · 05/10/2017 23:52

I make sure I focus on when i'll be back and what fun things we have planned for when i do.

pinkspideruk · 06/10/2017 02:50

we pack their bag together and talk about all the fun things they will be doing - it helps that H has been staying with her aunty and grandma since she was tiny s she knows the routine

Dessallara · 06/10/2017 10:20

My daughter's never needed any special prepare, they always loved sleepovers :)
