Ideas for 6 year old girl, advanced reader, for Christmas?

I'm looking for book ideas for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas if anyone can suggest any? She is an advanced reader, but not interested in the books I'm buying my 9 year old (they are at about the same level in reading and I have bought her tom gates and David Williams). She has been reading horrid henry, but she is much more of a girly girl than my eldest. I'm looking for something that she will be able to read to herself and enjoy- something funny, age appropriate and maybe about a young girl or something relatable. Any suggestions?

My answer to a lot of things on here seems to be either Dick King Smith or Swallows and Amazons. Both of them might work for your little girl.

My DD especially enjoyed the Sophie books and her current favourite is the Queen's Nose.

You could try Escape from Nettle Farm. It's release date is 28th November but it is available now on the author's website where you can get signed copies. It's about a young girl and a puppy and is for 8-9 year olds.

What about the series of Secret Seven by Enid Blyton?

Or Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild? There's a series there, too.

You could try Chris Riddell's "Ottoline" series, I think you can get them in a nice gift set.

Actually, anything by Noel Streatfeild!

How about Pippi Longstocking? Or Milly Molly Mandy?

Fantastic thank you all, I'm going to look at each of these on amazon now. I always get them some books for Christmas but was completely stuck for ideas for DD6 this year so this is great. I think as she likes horrid Henry she will like the naughty ones!

We got Escape To Nettle Farm by Justin Davis the other day for our daughter age 7. She is loving reading it herself,and it has some beautiful illustrations throughout which she loves as it breaks up the text. You can buy it from the authors website,I would highly recommend it! Lovely story!

I loved this Catherine Cookson book for children when mine were about that age.

My 6yo fairly advanced reader has recently enjoyed some of the 'Secret Rescuers' series. It's quite girlish but has enough adventure and suspense for him to be able to overlook the fact that the main characters are girls and all the magical animals in need of rescuing are 'cute'. In other words, it is obviously written and marketed for girly girls, but nevertheless has an engaging exciting storyline.

(I wish fewer children's book series were so obviously gendered!)

The Humphrey books are great, definitely Pippi Longstocking, and The Noisy Village books also by Astrid Lindgren. Good Cat, Bad Cat by Lynne Reid Banks, and the Sarah, Plain and Tall books by Patricia MacLachlan are lovely.
