On Saturday June 25th, we're holding Bookfest, a one-day literary extravaganza for the whole family at Kings Place in London - right by Kings Cross train station.

As well as lots of great literary events for adults, we've just launched a fabulous programme of events for kids and tickets for most of these are just £7 each.

Bring the kids along to meet their favourite authors including Liz Pichon, Holly Webb and Andy Stanton and book tickets for two great shows - The official Wimpy Kid show and for Harry Potter fans, a fabulous interactive event which both promise to bring the books alive. Authors will be on-hand for book signings at our onsite bookshop and more events will be announced soon.

Events kick off at 10am, and will carry on through the day - you can pop in for a single session or stay until the halls empty out and bar starts buzzing. Prices start at £7 for an individual session, going up to £55 for an open ticket for the duration. Do come along - it's going to be a fantastic day, and we hope to see you there!

Find out more about Bookfest here and book your tickets here.

Is there a family ticket?

WhattodoSue · 29/04/2016 17:40

Sounds great. Penguin used to do book days when I was a child. They were amazing - loads of activities and crafts and authors. However, at £220 for a family of 4 for the day, think it is a little bit pricey for us.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/04/2016 18:21

They do, but its a little far to come

PurpleCrazyHorse · 29/04/2016 19:33

Too pricey for us I'm afraid

idontlikealdi · 29/04/2016 22:13

Is it £7 per child?

TheNIghtManagersWife · 29/04/2016 22:41

Would love to come to this, my daughters are book-obsessed. But £55 for an open ticket is far too expensive for us - £220 for 4 of us to attend is just too pricey.

It is a great idea though.

Gooseysgirl · 30/04/2016 07:47

Too expensive...

Lunar1 · 30/04/2016 08:41

Hopefully you can do this in other parts of the country as well, my two would love this, but with transport, tickets, food and unforeseen extras the day would end up over £500 for the 4 of us! I could get a lot of books with that.

ParadiseCity · 30/04/2016 09:50

I almost wish I hadn't clicked on this as I really want to go and I can't Sad

Looks like a great day.

stargirl1701 · 30/04/2016 12:40

Planning a Scottish Bookfest later in the year?

allthingsred · 30/04/2016 17:00

Like others have said. Sounds like a great day. Shame your only doing it in London though 😢

mogloveseggs · 30/04/2016 19:45

Looks great but too far away and too expensive.

Badders123 · 01/05/2016 08:00

Far too expensive.

Shemozzle · 01/05/2016 11:14

My daughter would love this, but travel to London on top of the ticket price would be too expensive. Will it be anywhere further north of the country?

ShowOfHands · 01/05/2016 17:11

Too far and too ££ for us but can you tell Maggie O'Farrell I love her please?

SaraTheFairy · 01/05/2016 19:57

The Rob giving her the knife and telling her to hurt herself thing. I wonder if he's done that in a previous relationship and that is how he came upon the mysterious scar on his arm?

Galena · 01/05/2016 20:01

I'll just go to Cheltenham Literature Festival instead...

BertPuttocks · 01/05/2016 21:04

It looks fantastic but seriously expensive.

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/05/2016 08:30

My phone's playing up and I can't go to the page. Could someone from HQ please come back and answer my question?

forkhandles4candles · 02/05/2016 09:30

Could there be a family open ticket? For 150 or something?

MimsyBorogroves · 02/05/2016 14:22

I would absolutely love to do this, especially with DS1, but travel to and from London alone would be crippling without the price of the tickets. It seems very London-centric, which is a real shame given the reach of the site.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 02/05/2016 16:46

Hoping to go to Baths Childrens Literature festival if I can find any information
