Can you recommend books for 3 year old girl with female lead?

I want to buy some books for DD for Xmas where lead character is female and a good role model/adventurous/not a princess. Any suggestions?

I bought some picture books at a Christmas Market yesterday about a character called Tara Binns - a little girl who dresses up and then goes on adventures as that character. She is a pilot in one, a doctor and an engineer. They really looked fabulous. I gave them to my Childrens school (my DD is too old). Look on Amazon. They really looked fab.
