Books for a 11 year old that enjoyed maze runner, divergent and hunger games?

Dd gas almost read all the books she got for Christmas, her birthday is soon so she would like some more books, nothing girly. Any ideas?

Noughts and Crosses

The Cherub series

The Gone series

The Enemy series

1984

The Grapes of Wrath

Chaos Walking series

as the content is intended for a much older audience.

It's not my type of book at all so I'm in the dark here. I'm hoping to get him interested in Pratchett, at least I know what he's reading then.

Maybe try The Missing Link series for him. And Tunnels, Deeper, Free Fall etc. And as a one off, The House on Falling Star Hill (I love this, I still re-read it sometimes). Oh, and The Bromeliad (especially if you're a Pratchett fan!).

Early Cherub books would probably be ok, but they get very grown up very quickly.

For Endlers DD, has she read Eragon? That's getting a bit more into high fantasy. The Midnighters series might be good too. There's the Uglies series too, but it might be a bit old (although I wouldn't have suggested The Hunger Games for an 11 year old, so she might be fine).

I worry quite a lot when my year 7 pick up the Gone series. They are extremely violent with (IMO) strong phallic imagery an implied sexual violence from one of the nastier characters. I also struggled with the deaths of babies/young children (not really a spoiler - incidental to the story and happens very early on) but I'm sure that was more distressing to me as a mum. IMO much much more adult than hunger games or divergent. My year 9 are nagging me to read maze runner - they say it's great. The cherub ones deal with teen romantic relationships. Not sure if there might be a difference between a year 6/year 7 reader in maturity?

Yes to anne McCaffrey, also try Susan cooper dark is rising,..and a lot. Of traditional fantasy (terry brooks etc) , enders game etc,
