Really good translation of Pippi Longstocking

As a translator, I always read books in translation with a keen professional eye. I've just read a version of Pippi Longstocking translated for the US market that has been so bad that I've wanted to throw it away. If you saw my bookshelves you would know this is not something I do lightly in fact the last time I got rid of something was the Dan Brown glut that had somehow crept in. Please help! Have you read a really good version of it? I'm quite tempted by the Lauren Child illustrated one- is it any good?

The reviews hardly ever talk about the quality of the translation even though it's crucial. I can't find out if the Tina Nunally one (the Lauren Child illustrated version) is good.

The Lauren child one is fantastic. My dd (9) loves Pippi and had re-read this version countless times. She'll have it for life.
