I have been tasked with making a children's library for a 6 month old to grow into.

So what books would you include on the best children's bookcase

Off the top of my head; I am thinking

Jolly Postman, Each Peach Pear Plum, Dear Zoo, Dr Seuss, Hungry Catterpillar Peepo, We're going on a bear hunt, the little engine who could, The rainbow fish, paper bag princess, gruffalo

The King of the Copper Mountains by Paul Biegel.

It's a lovely 'chapter a night' book, we have just begun to read it again for the fourth time, when DS1 was tiny my MiL gave us her copy which she had read to DH and his 3 siblings. This made a big impression on me at the time as I only had bedtime stories once I was able to read them myself Sad

I've just read the reviews for the Elephant and the Bad baby Shock

We've got the little Penguin editions of classics like Chicken Licken, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood - they're fab!

HappyDog those reviews you link to are hilarious! The Elephant and The Bad Baby is also a favourite here - my 3 year old can recite it with the pictures as prompts, and I usually just say a few words and he completes the page :o
