Who suggested Ottoline and Claude?

Whoever you are, do you have anymore suggestions? She's already written to Chris Riddell to ask him to write some more Ottoline books and has read all of the Claude books our library can provide

Not sure if it was us or not, but my dd loves these.
Other similar ish books we love include "fortunately the milk", the Madame Pamplemousse stories, Alex smith's one called Ella (I think) and harder but fun, the Tom Trueheart stories

I've seen a few others mention Claude so can't say for sure it was me, but I do recommend them to anyone who'll listen :o I love Sir Bobblysock!

It might have been me - have recommended a few times. DD has recently been reading Agatha Parrot, Amazing Esme, Amelia Jane, Roald Dahl (Charlie and Chocolate Factory, The Witches, The Twits), and some Jeremy Strong ones.

Next you simply must try the Violet Mackerel series. This has been out in Australia for some time, it is wonderful - so pleased to see that it has now reached UK too.

Worst Witch, 101 Dalmatians and Roddy Doyle currently hits with DS1, who is also a fan of Claude and Ottoline.

The Ivy and Bean books are great.

Thanks all, some great suggestions here for dd to try. We picked up a Famous Five short story last night. It was set out in chapters with lots of illustrations and she read it in one go.

Which age would you say Goth Girl was aimed at?

A friend read Goth Girl by herself at 8 but we read it to DS1 at 6.5 (because his friend had been reading it). It's beautifully produced and I'm sure will be one he comes back to when bigger (and will get more of the jokes).

Been to the library again today. She chose a Claude book that she had ordered awhile ago, a Dixie O'Day and an Oliver Moon book.
