What do you think would have hapened in later years? WW2? MMM working in Miss Muggins shop and being called up? Would she have quarreled with Little friend Susan, a nurse in a cap, over Billy Blunt? Thoughts please. Love the books.

I LOVE SpringBreak's account of what happened to Jilly but I don't agree with Billy marrying Jessamine.
I also don't think he'd have become a farmer. I think a big grocer's shop in a nearby market town (which would have seemed very metropolitan and sophisticated to people left in the village). He'd have had a motorbike, though, to come and visit.
