February bookclub choice: Catalina Echeverri's There's A Dinosaur in My Bathtub is the perfect picture book.

With wonderful illustrations, Catalina tells the story of Amelia and Pierre the french dinosaur who lives in her bathtub and their amazing adventures together which include dancing upside down and eating ginormous ice creams.

My son loved this book, he thought it was very funny laughing all the way through. It's different from the normal books he reads at bedtime, definitely enjoyed it had to read it three times on the first night.

This was a great story for my dino-obsessed three year old who laughed out loud at Pierre and Amelia's adventures.
The characters are really engaging and my boy loved to see all of the different places Pierre hid in. After reading we looked around our own bathroom to see if there was any spot small enough for him to hide in.
My son has a real fascination with foreign languages at the moment so he was really excited by the french phrases, asking me what they meant and trying to get his tongue around the pronunciation.
We've really enjoyed exploring this book and we'd love to see further adventures from Pierre and Amelia.

Many, many thanks for this bright and cheery picture book. Catalina Echeverri's imaginative, bright and colourful illustrations help bring the story to life. However, one of the of the book's greatest strengths is that the story dares to be different. The prose is humorous and well-thought out, with the subtle use of French phrases introducing young readers to a new language. A criticism of the book can be the way the direction of the story abruptly changes from beginning to show different ways that Pierre disguises himself in avoiding detection to the many fantastical adventures that he and Amelia share. Reading this out aloud in Key Stage 1 provided the impetus for lively discussions between pupils suggesting the many other ways that Pierre could disguise himself - maybe it is the book that needed to do this. However, this is but a minor slight in describing an exciting and vibrant tale. In conclusion, a very enjoyable read.

Thank you for the book. It's a perfect length for bedtime. I love the creative illustrations and my son who has started learning French at nursery loves that element. Definitely would recommend and would make a lovely gift.

I am so sorry for my late response. Blame the "return to work" This book came in perfect time for a half term trip to the Lakes. With 2 girls, it was a perfect story for the 6 yr old to read to the 1 yr old. The kids who were with us loved it too (8 & 5). Illustrations are engaging and creative.
A book that can hold interest and ignite curiousity too.
Thank you so much for this lovely gift... We never win anything so are so grateful.

I also loved the french element. My sister lives there and my daughter was delighted to show off her language skills!
