Books for nearly 5 year old girl

My DD is nearly 5 and loves being read to, and want to find some new stories as I am starting to know all ours off by heart! We have read all the obvious classics as well as Charlie & Lola, Peppa Pig (which I can't stand anymore). Any suggestions?

Julia Donaldson - Animals in School
Usborne do Young Reading Series One books which are good - ideal early readers when they get to that level but nice to read and share, The Princess and the Pea was a particular favourite here

Thank you for all the suggestions, the Holly Webb ones are just the sort of thing that will appeal to my DD at the moment, as are Iggy and me - she is going through quite a girly phase and is very specific about what she likes and doesnt like! Will follow you blog Peri - fab idea!! Have read all the Julia Donaldson ones, will try the illustrated stories for girls as well - this is going to cost me a fortune, may have to try the library as well! Have read her Milly Molly Mandy which I remember my mum reading to me. She also enjoyed this one

She adores the Felicity Wishes collection and is just getting into Enid Blyton (Wishing Chair Collection - it's a chapter book though so requires more concentration).

I was also going to suggest Enid Blyton - the Wishing Chair series and the Enchanted Wood series. My 4.5 year old DD and I have read all of the Wishing Chair, and are halfway through the Enchanted Wood, and she's loved them. Children who meet fairies and pixies and have adventures - it's led to a lot of conversations about where we'd fly to in magic chairs etc!

Naughty Amelia Jane - also Enid Blyton.

Roald Dahl - some of the ones for younger children (Fantastic Mr Fox, James and the Giant Peach, Esiotrot, The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me).

Yes to My Naughty Little Sister, and Paddington.

Dogger - Shirley Hughes.

The Owl who was afraid of the Dark - Jill Tomlinson

DD still likes Elmer but you might find that your DD is growing out of them now.

Dr Seuss - Cat in the Hat is a big favourite here.

Janet and Allan Ahlberg - The Jolly Postman is fab, but I used to love pretty much any of their books.

Brambly Hedge (which also has the most gorgeous illustrations).

The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy

I used to love the Alpaca books by Rosemary Billam, though I've just looked on Amazon and they appear to be out of print and only available second hand.

In addition to those mentioned above (sorry if any of these are the obvious classics) there's another Astrid Lindgren Lotta book; also Anna Hibiscus stories; Claude by Alex Smith; Clever Polly and the Stupid Wolf; Mrs Pepperpot chapter books. The first 2 Little House stories have been enjoyed by DD (4) as well.
Alison Uttley Animal stories eg Little red Fox, Sam Pig are sweet though I'm not sure if they're still in print.
