Harry Potter hardbacks or paperbacks?

DD is only just 4 but I'm planning to start accumulating the HP books from charity shops when I see them. But I'd like to know if you think hardbacks are better as may be reread so less chance of falling apart, or paperbacks better as not so huge and heavy? I imagine I'll start by reading one or two aloud to her in a couple of years.

Paperbacks ... The later books are really long, which makes holding the hardback versions really heavy.

As an aside, the audio books are lovely, read by Stephen Fry. Ds and I listened to the first one on a car journey just after Xmas.

Yes I read that in some old threads I found too, do love Stephen Fry as well. We have been listening to Hugh Laurie read Moomins for the last year and a half, real shame he only did one. I started to dream about him at one stage
