Favourites are gingerbread man, three little pigs, three bears. We've also got gruffalo.

Any suggestions? I'm particularly looking for modern ones that I might not find otherwise.

TIA

How about Each Peach Pear Plum - an oldie but a goodie!

SpaghettiBologneighs · 01/03/2013 17:57

Toddle Waddle - my 2.4 year old can recite the whole thing. It has a lovely rhythm. He also likes one called Busy Day.

idiot55 · 01/03/2013 17:58

stargirl1701 · 01/03/2013 17:59

You need Dr Seuss. Endless repetition, so many books! Grin

41notTrendy · 01/03/2013 17:59

Goodnight Moon was a favourite here when ds was that age. And Charlie Cook's favourite book.

SneakyBiscuitEater · 01/03/2013 17:59

The Fox in the Dark by Allison Green is wonderful.

My dd loves Room on the Broom by the same people as the Gruffalo. It rhymes and has repetition. I can now read it with my eyes closed

Takver · 01/03/2013 18:05

Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough (I still remember dd shouting STILL STUCK at the end of every page and she is nearly 11 Grin )

What the Ladybird Heard - by Julia Donaldson and pics by Lydia Monk - fab!

breadandhoney · 01/03/2013 18:33

A squash and a squeeze by Julia Donaldson.

NeverQuiteSure · 01/03/2013 18:33

Julia Donaldson's What the Ladybird Heard. Brilliant.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 01/03/2013 18:38

All the Julia Donaldson ones - Monkey Puzzle, Smartest Giant In Town, I particularly like. Fix It Duck, Shark In The Park.

bamboobutton · 01/03/2013 18:40

Mr Magnolia

I think I have read that to dd every night for the last 2 months!

Blatherskite · 01/03/2013 18:41

Again by Emily Gravett is one of my DD's (just 3) favourites and has repetitive lines. DD knows it so well now, she "reads" the agains :)

Anything by Julia Donaldson would work. Gruffalo, Gruffalo's Child, Room on the Broom, Squash and a Squeeze and What the Ladybird Heard are all big hits here.

Goldilocks and just the one Bear is a good one too if she already likes the original.

Blatherskite · 01/03/2013 18:43

Oh and "Where's Fred" - DD loves that story!

Starfishkiss · 01/03/2013 18:46

Definitely Duck in a Truck! My son loves shouting out the lines too!

MrsPear · 01/03/2013 18:47

Peace at Last - ds 1 loves this book.

"oh no" says daddy bear (we changed this from Mr Bear) "i can't stand this"!

titan · 01/03/2013 18:47

Brown bear, brown bear - Eric Carle
Also the very busy spider. Very repetitive but seem to appeal.
My 2.5 yo is currently obsessed with Meg and Mog series. We got a set of 10 v cheap from the book people.
