Suggestions for a teenage girl with dyslexia / dyspraxia

I have posted this in SEN, but thought I would post here as well.

My DD (14.5) has just been found to have a language disorder and dyspraxia (long story... I won't go into it all). I am trying to find some fiction that she might enjoy, and could relate to, but that would be at a level she can understand. She is into riding, and the usual teenage girl pursuits of boys, shopping, clothes, make up, etc. Her reading ability is around age 10. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

TIA

Try Barrington Stoke publishers. They specialise in books for struggling and reluctant readers and their books have different reading and interest ages. They are all written by popular authors and could easily be shelved with the other books written by those authors in a bookshop/library, although they tend to be shelved together for ease.

They have a great catalogue, so she could choose something which takes her fancy.

Thanks! I will have a look at them.

The Barrington Stoke books are printed on cream paper, and use a different font to usual, as this apparently makes them easier for dyslexics to read. I have no idea how this works, but am assured that it does!

I have read a lot of the ones aimed at junior school readers, which have been about football, bmxing etc so modern subject mattter. The only senior school one I have read was called (something like) Boy Father, and was told from the point of view of a 16 year old boy whose girlfriend had his baby and whose family wouldn't let him be involved in the baby's life. It was quite interesting!! There are loads and loads of different titles/subject matter, although I have never seen any in our local library.
