Is a great book, and it has lesbians in it. I am struggling to think of any others - any ideas?

You read the Tickle Book at BEDTIME? Shock

No no no, it's purely and strictly for a rainy day when you can't get out the house, and you need to chase them round the room screaming, "Let's get started, very very quickly..." until they've burnt off some energy.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 11/02/2012 00:50

no, the pictures are all about going to bed. assuming we're talking about the same book. the tickle-me-too ones?

Devora · 17/02/2012 23:38

No, the tickle monster ones! Only the last page is about bedtime, the others set in a train, a farm, a zoo etc. It's VERY sinister; stuff of nightmares.

I think Poppy & Sam's parents at Apple Tree Farm are going through a rock patch. Mr Boot still volunteers at local steam railway but always appears uneasy when visiting the farm. Has he moved out? are they on a break? I worry about them, I hope it all works out. Grin

Takver · 22/02/2012 16:02

I think Mr Boot has left by the ones we had - was definitely Mrs Boot the farmer + children and no Mr (nor indeed other Mrs) Boot.

Have you seen www.gransnet.com/forums/book_club/1191146-Live-webchat-with-Childrens-Laureate-Julia-Donaldson-Friday-2nd-March-12-1pm

!!!

(note, I saw this on the mumsnet twitter feed. While over on Gransnet I also saw that Greg Wiggle is coming back to the Wiggles) What else am I missing?

OP posts:
Devora · 24/02/2012 08:49

I have for a long time suspected that Gransnet may be more my natural home.

DamselInDisarray · 24/02/2012 15:28

We've got a gingerbread man book where Allie Blaster who goes to visit Auntie Hetty and Auntie Betty who live together. DH and I like to think they're a couple and like that it's utterly unremarkable in the story.

Tigresswoods · 24/02/2012 15:30

Aah are Prunella & Pat lesbians!?

We kind of joked that they were but I suppose they probably are. I like this story even more now.

DamselInDisarray · 24/02/2012 15:39

It's this one, but it's out of print now.

ButHeNeverDid · 24/02/2012 15:47

gorilla has a single dad

hils3000 · 25/04/2013 18:03

Has anyone else noticed the ghost in tabby mctat, in the picture above "he wandered a whole week long"? We noticed her this week, and was hoping if I googled it, the reason she's there might be explained. I would welcome any theories!

Spikeinhiscoat · 25/04/2013 18:16

Um, what ghost? I've just been to have a look, and I can't see one. Whereabouts in the picture or am I just being gullible?

Mondaybaby · 10/05/2013 14:43

The mum in the Daisy books, by Kes Gray and Nick Sharratt, have a single mum.

Mondaybaby · 10/05/2013 14:47

I shouldn't post while I am working - That was meant to say, the Mum in the Daisy books is single.

DuchessofMalfi · 11/05/2013 19:18

I've just scoured our copy of Tabby McTat and can't find the ghost either :o I found a couple of homeless people in the middle picture, and he's possibly asleep or maybe passed out having drunk the contents of the bottle floating in the canal. Love the parrots in the tree in the park at the end :)

Blueberryveryberry · 27/08/2013 12:23

There is no ghost in my copy. Above 'he wandered a whole week long' I can see (from left to right): an old man with grey hair and a beard wearing brown (with Samuel Sprat following Tabby McTat), someone wearing the black muslim dress you can only see their eyes carrying a basket, a man with a moustache paying for his food (he is wearing a green top), a black/brown child wearing a blue hoodie and red trousers, the seller wearing a hat and handing a red bag, a black/brown woman wearing a green dress pulling a 'granny's trolley', a man wearing glasses, white shirt and blue trousers, a child wearing a yellow top on blue trousers on a pushchair, a woman wearing a red dress pushing the puschair, Tabby McTat, a woman selling fruit wearing an apron, a man carrying two bags wearing a burgundy jacket and blue trousers. No ghost.

YoniHuman · 14/09/2013 02:09

I don't think a Dad is ever mentioned in any of the Harry & the Dinosaur Books.

GertBySea · 14/09/2013 02:21

What tune do you sing the Tabby McTat song to? I always struggle

SavoyCabbage · 14/09/2013 02:38

We've got the ghost. I've googled her too to no avail.

GertBySea · 17/09/2013 04:35

No ghost here either. Where exactly in the picture is she, on yours, please?
