Suggestions for a gift box of books for a new baby

I'm wanting to put together a "gift box" of classic picture books as a gift for my new niece/nephew (due at Christmas).

Some favourites I've thought of already are,
The tiger who came to tea
Owl babies
The cat in the hat
The gruffalo
The very hungry caterpillar
Hairy maclary
Alfie gets in first
Mog on fox night

I'm trying to think of books that might be nice for mum and dad to read as bedtime stories to the baby and also great pictures for toddlers too.

Which classics (in your opinion!) have I missed off my list?

I work with kids and I must have read thousands of bedtime stories over the years but my mind is going blank at trying to put together 10-15 great books!

Definitely Peepo, We're Going on a Bear Hunt and I would add Peace at Last by Jill Murphy.

Ten little fingers and ten little toes is brilliant.

All my DC have loved 'Hug' as babies...lovely bedtime story and they can 'read' it themselves.

Sometimes by Emma Dodd. Its our last book of the night.

That's not my... Are good. My ds now reaches for all the textured bits.

Hmm might steal this idea as have been struggling to think of things people can buy ds for his first Christmas/birthday.

Loved the hungry Caterpillar, Hairy Mclairy and the Tiger who came to tea which I see are already on your list.

Like your list, but would add "Orange Pear Apple Bear" by Emily Gravett. :)
