Fun story book to help with alphabet

Hello all. My DS (2.8) loves reading and is really getting into letters and recognising words (hit and miss on that one).

I'd like to get him a book that helps with his letters but has a story in it too (pref with sharks, dragons and the like!). The books that just talk about each letter make him switch off.

Any suggestions for a book that helps with letters but has a story to it?

Kipper's A-Z by Mick Inkpen - more creepy crawlies than sharks, but very enjoyable. (and anything else by Mick Inkpen while you're there)

Alfie's A-Z by Shirley Hughes is good- interesting pics, kind of a story ( well a rhyme anyway) but no dragons.

I was going to say Kipper's A-Z too Grin

Thanks. As it happens, a friend reco-ed it just after I left this post so I've just purchased the Mick Inkpen one from Amazon. Obviously a good choice! Thanks.

Question probably answered with Kipper but there's also a Dr Suess ABC and Mog's Amazing Birthday Caper - this is probably better for slightly older ones but it's a lot of fun and totally mad!

I'd also recommend the first book in the Ladybird Phonics series, Alphapets - it's not a story but it is lots of fun, and it's phonically sound, out of print now but Amazon has enormous numbers of cheap second hand copies.

But I agree with everyone else that Kippers Alphabet is excellent
