Funny Books for 2.8year old with a big sense of humour

DD has always loved being read to and I love reading to her, but for some reason, maybe just overkill, she has lost interest with the exception of Milly Molly Mandy for some reason! I really hope it is just a phase as it is one of the things that I have really enjoyed doing with her over the last couple of years. She does have a really good sense of fun and loves to laugh so I am just wondering if anyone can recommend humourous books for toddlers/pre-school? TIA

All the Hairy McLarey books (cant remember spelling)

Also the Slinky Malinky (also not sure of spelling) stories by the same author.

Though they drove me completely loopy my DD adored everything by Dr Seuss and they vary in complexity so you can pick what's most appropriate.

Mixed Up Fairy Tales by Nick Sharratt and Don't Put Your Finger In the Jelly Nelly.

Mr Spotty's Potty - who plants flowers in a potty but doesn't realise that it's his dog who waters them!

Brilliant, thanks for all the ideas, we have the Hairy Maclary's but not the others so will get ordering on Amazon and also down to the library, hopefully they will go down well with DD.

'The mole who knew it was none of his business' is a winner with small children at school but I warn you now, it is all about animal poo. You will love it or hate it, like Marmite :) There is also a lovely book about a brussel sprout (a bit Chritmasey though) who nobody loves. Can't remember the title but got it from Amazon for friend's children last year and they loved it. Off to find a link.

Dr Xargle and the Earthlings series. It's a bit old for that age but DD was obsessed with it then and still is. She is 'getting' the jokes more as she gets older.

Dr Seuss adored here, and Maisy, can't get enough of the little mouse...

The Donaldson/Scheffler books are humourous- currntly charlie cook is favourite, bt it seems to rotate weekly.

Also, Allen and Janet Ahlberg's Funny Bones- obsessed would be too mild a description Wink

What voice do you use for Boris? I started off with an excellent Boris Johnson impression and then DP took over and did a man-pretending-to-be-a-woman voice and DS loved it Confused

Ah... well, erm it was being read to him by a lovely triage nurse, so maybe that's why he wasn't so fond of it? Blush
I think the other 20 medical staff were putting him off concentrating... Wink

Pants, by Giles Andreae. We had a brilliant version with a CD of Lenny Henry singing about 6 different versions of it.

The Little Princess, Tony Ross.

I also second Slinky Malinki. I think it's really well crafted, and much better than any of the other Slinky/Hairy books.

We have a Paddington which she does love & Slinky Malinki. Thanks for all the suggestions I have a brilliant list now, it sounds like the The Mole who knew it was none of his business, Smelly Sprout, Pants & Dirty Bertie may well go down a treat with DD whose sense of humour is base to say the least Grin

Anything by Nick Sharratt eg Nelly/Jelly, What's in the Witch's Kitchen seemed to get mine giggling. Burglar Bill and Funnybones by the Ahlbergs also faves.

Slinky Malinki is a beautiful book, and so funny. My children still talk about him 'battering and tattering' things

The books about the Large Family. A family of elephants who live the same lives as we do - going to school, work, Mum wants some peace etc. They are brilliant illustrated but not sweet like Humphrey the Elephant. DD 2.7 loves them and is really starting to get the humour.
