Looking for a new "Chapter Book"

Have just finished reading the Enchanted Wood to my almost 5yo DS.
Would definitely like to try another chapter book but need a break from Moonface et al.
He really likes the Horrid Henry cartoons on TV but I fancied reading something a bit more tasteful Smile
Any ideas?

The Indian in the Cupboard! How could I ever have forgotten that book? That's a brilliant one :-)

DS loves the Magic Tree House series. Simple language, lots of action and I feel like he's learning some history too Grin

We are currently reading cows in action which I suspect I am enjoying more than him Blush. Lots of the gags go over his head.

Teddy Robinson is great when they're knackered and just need to wind down and sleep.

You could try "The Wrong Night" by Katrine Robinson. It's an e-Book on Amazon so you need to read it on a Kindle or just direct from your PC, but it is a lovely story and very funny. Quite a few chapters, so it'll last a while! It's got a Christmas theme and involves a small boy who has to rescue a grumpy Santa's mis-delivered presents, a reindeer with attention deficit disorder and a visit to a training school for Santas, plus a few difficulties with school bullies and difficult grown ups, etc
